Head Stone of Anna West- Moore. Her Grandson john T Moore placed these markets for his parents as well.

Our story starts in South Carolina, John Moore born around 1780 and died around 1840 in South Carolina. He would marry Anna West of Spartanburg, SC. We know from our family history they are the parent's of James Moore who was born about 1807 in South Carolina. Through DNA we have discovered 2 other Children John "Jack" Moore born 1800-1889 (Greenville, SC) and Margaret Moore 1805-???? (Anderson, SC)

In 1850 Census Anna Moore is widowed and living with her Daughter Margarte Moore "McDade" Margarte Married Neal McDade who grew up a few houses from them in the early 1800's. Unclear of the reason Anna Moore decided to move along with her Son James Moore and his wife Souson Unknown Moore along with Anna's Sister Rebecca West Johnson the wife of Samuel Johnson. Bases on the childrens births and where they were born in census records they would have made this migration to Alabama around 1853-1855. They would settle in Fayette County, AL near present day Millport and Vernon, AL.

Thanks to Family members and the lasting headstones we know more than we would based off census records, as to date we are unable to find James Moore 1807-1858 or his wife Susan "Souson" Unknown 1811-1857 in a census record. The 1850 Census may have been missed if they were already traveling and they woud both never live long enough to be listed in the 1860 Census. James and Susan arrived in Fayette County around 1853-1855 as their last child born in South Carolina was born in 1853 and first and only child born in Alabama in 1855. We know that James and Susan died in their 40's and seem to have died back to back maybe in the winter months by 1860 all their chilcren are orphaned and living in various homes around the town of Vernon, AL.

Susan "Souson" Moore  Even with so many people DNA tested from our line we still do not have a madien name for Susan. We know her son
